Easter at the house

Hey - I'm back with updates - hope you all had a great Easter weekend with lots of goodies and time to play. For Painter Paul and me it really was a busy weekend - we got loads done, but are so tired and achy now...

So - here's what we did:

  • We got a second and third coat of paint completed in the bedrooms
  • First and second coat of paint done in the bathroom
  • Second coat of paint completed in the hall- & stairway
  • First, second and third coat of paint on the ceilings in the kitchen and living room (in fact the living room even got a fourth coat, as we were not entirely happy with the result of the third one. Note to self: do not paint a ceiling when you're tired!)
  • Wired up the downlights (e.g. laying cable, fitting transformers, connecting the lights)
  • Installed 12 downlights - they look amazing!
  • Stripped old paint off the wooden beam in the stairway.
  • Took in a delivery of 40 sq.mtrs PTG (planed tongue& groove) floorboards
  • Connected a few sockets
  • Had an Easter Sunday curry for lunch. :o)
Phew, feels good to write it all out and realise that actually that was quite a lot even though it feels as though we are not moving quickly enough.

Best for last:
Paul's brothers are coming to visit and help! Master Max is returning for another entire week this Friday, and Johann will be flying in at the end of April for a week too!!! Most appreciated.

So next weekend we can carry on with the list I wrote up here

Finally - here are the latest pictures of our progress:

  1. that's a lot of curry! hope it tasted good. looks like you both deserved it.
the beam in the hallway looks great, so do the lights. those are the fist pictures that really bring across what a beautiful house its going to be soon. its the small things that really bring it together. can't wait to see the floorboards in place. it'll be amazing!
